What is your role at Norstella?
I am a Senior Strategy Lead on the Real-World Data Commercial Strategy and Innovation team, where I partner with pharmaceutical and biotech organizations to design real-world evidence solutions that answer complex clinical and commercial questions. My role sits at the intersection of data, analytics, and strategy, helping clients leverage Norstella’s integrated real-world data to better understand patient journeys, treatment patterns, market access, and outcomes. I work closely with commercial, medical, and HEOR teams to scope studies and develop evidence strategies that align with each organization’s objectives.
Tell us about your real-world data expertise.
My background combines public health, data analysis, and real-world evidence strategy. I earned my Master’s in Public Health and began my career on Norstella’s real-world data delivery team, partnering with clients to execute complex real-world evidence studies before transitioning into pre-sales strategy. That experience gave me a strong understanding of what it takes to successfully design and deliver high-quality evidence, from study design through project execution.
Today, I use that perspective to help clients scope projects that are aligned with their business objectives while also being practical to execute. Because I’ve worked on both the strategy and delivery sides, I understand how to translate complex research and business questions into actionable study designs that leverage integrated real-world data. I support both HEOR and commercial initiatives, helping clients identify the right data sources, methodologies, and analytical approaches to generate evidence that informs decisions across the product lifecycle.
What’s been one of the most rewarding or exciting projects that you’ve been a part of and why?
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work has been helping clients answer questions that traditional structured data alone cannot address. Some of my favorite projects have leveraged clinical notes to better understand the patient experience by capturing outcomes and clinical measures that are often missing from claims or structured EHR data.
For example, we’ve used clinical documentation to identify functional outcomes, activities of daily living, disease severity assessments, provider-reported scoring systems, and other clinical measures that offer a much richer understanding of how patients are actually doing over time. We’ve also been able to define patient populations using nuanced clinical criteria that would otherwise require manual chart review. Bringing together structured data and clinical notes allows us to generate evidence that’s more reflective of real-world clinical practice and ultimately supports better decision-making for patients.
What types of problems are our RWD helping pharma solve?
Our integrated real-world data helps pharmaceutical companies answer important questions across the entire product lifecycle, from early development through commercialization and post-launch evidence generation. We help clients better understand disease epidemiology, identify target patient populations, evaluate treatment patterns, measure clinical and economic outcomes, assess healthcare resource utilization, and identify barriers to diagnosis, treatment, and access.
Beyond traditional evidence generation, our data also supports commercial decision-making by helping organizations understand provider and patient behavior, identify opportunities for patient identification and engagement, evaluate market dynamics, and measure the real-world impact of therapies. By connecting claims, electronic health records, laboratory data, and clinical notes, we provide a more complete view of the patient journey, enabling clients to make more informed clinical and business decisions.
When you’re not analyzing data, what do you like to do?
When I’m not working with data, I enjoy spending time trying new restaurants, running, traveling, and watching NY Giants games.
